Comics can easily tell many types of stories without even writing words down. Through a progression of images you could show so much emotion. The same way movies can show a love story and such emotion stories without a character ever speaking. The Arrival specifically does a great job showing you the excitement and wonder of the story. You can really feel the wonder of the man when he first arrived in this new place. Sometimes the use of words can completely ruin a story. The reader can misread the context or misunderstand the choice of words in certain situations. When describing something without using words the series of images have to be able to get you invested emotionally in order to convey their message.
