“Understanding Comics” by Scott McCloud was a really interesting read. It helps give you the information your looking for without having to dig deep and it gives it to you in such an enthusiastic way. McCloud says that there are many different types of transitional panels; moment to moment, action to action, subject to subject, scene to scene, aspect to aspect and non sequitur. American comics are more prone to be action to action style where we sometimes get overwhelmed by so much stuff going on without much of a break to take it all in.

A great graphic novel I’ve been reading for a while now is “The Walking Dead” I have invested hours and hours into this read and it brings out so many emotions. In the scenes where there is no dialog you can really feel the emotion or tension without it being ruined by certain words that may be misinterpreted.
